A country’s laws and accepted ‘rules’ reflect its heart and spiritual standing better than any poll or survey could ever do. People still believe the United States is a Christian nation, and yet the next generation is leaving our congregations at record-breaking speed. People think the Supreme Court’s recent decision to repeal Roe v. Wade means we continue to be a Christian county. Still, the main thing it is doing is dividing our country into pro-life states and pro-choice states. ‘Progressive’ states continue to provide abortion facilities for anyone who wants to use them. We are more divided than ever, and that was the ultimate goal. When we are united, we are strong. When we are divided, we are not.
As a nation, we are broken, divided, and training our next generation to continue the status quo of splitting ourselves into small, controllable groups. We complain anonymously online while we sit on our comfy sofas. We do nothing and say nothing in the public eye. Our public institutions have trained us well and our children are being trained to take it a few steps further for the next generation. We can have as much Free Speech as we want as long as it isn’t in public, leaving our hearts and minds open to exploitation by our so-called trusted ‘experts’ and our ‘elected’ officials.
We huddle in the corner with our like-minded peers. We never speak of or share anything that might ‘offend’ for fear of public shame, ridicule, and reprisal, and, by default, we approve and support what we quietly oppose. Anything not forcefully and publically opposed is considered to be accepted. This is how our world works. If we keep quiet, keep to ourselves, only open up to like-minded people, and never publically voice our disapproval, than our country and our world will continue to ‘progress’ toward freedom FROM God instead of freedom IN God.
Michael Brown is correct:
“there is a very important lesson we must always keep in mind: Changing laws without changing hearts will never bring about long-term social and moral progress. The changing of hearts must accompany the changing of laws. Otherwise, there will only be resentment, anger ess and, ultimately, rebellion, leading to the reversal of the good laws. The short-term gains will become long-term losses.” source
As a nation, the further we move away from God and His ways, the less Peace, Protection, and Provision we will have. We are already at a tipping point, teetering over a point of no return. If we allow the great and mighty blessings God has given our nation to slip out of our hands, we will no longer be tolerated and will not be able to call this country home. Anyone who lives according to God’s Word will no longer be safe in public, and we will finally know what price countless others around the globe have paid to practice their faith and call themselves God’s people.
We are a nation of spoiled children who arrogantly believe we are safe and secure. We believe we can do whatever we want without consequence, without reprisal. We believe our future is secure and everything will continue as it has for generations to come. We ignore history, we thumb our noses at God’s Word. We have no fear and no limits. We have forgotten how to blush at public acts our grandparents didn’t even know people did in private.
““Were they ashamed when they committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed; they did not know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown,” says ADONAI. Thus says ADONAI: “Stand in the roads and look. Ask for the ancient paths— where the good way is— and walk in it. Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We won’t walk in it.’” (Jeremiah 6:15–16, TLV)
It’s time to repent. It’s time to once again be the salt and light. It’s time to learn how to blush.
““You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt should lose its flavor, how shall it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on a lampstand so it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”” (Matthew 5:13–16, TLV)
