1 John 2:6 ESV, whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
Do what He does, follow His example, learn to live the way He lived, and prove you are His disciple and that you are doing everything you can to put His instructions at work in your life.
Love is a CHOICE, not a feeling. We must choose to do what He instructs us to do.
1 John 3:23–24 TLV, Now this is His commandment—that we should believe in the name of His Son, the Messiah, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him. We know that He abides in us by this—by the Spirit He has given us.
Believe in the Name? What does Yeshua's Name mean? Irene Lipson puts it this way:
It is not surprising that God was concerned about the name he would give to his incarnate Son, the Messiah. What was to be his work? He was to save his people from their sins. What, then should be his name? Why, “Salvation” of course. Yeshua means “yhvh saves.” “You are to name him Yeshua, because he will save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21). So, we must believe in His Salvation for us from our sins. What, then, is sin?
1 John 3:3–6 CJB, 3 And everyone who has this hope in him continues purifying himself, since God is pure. 4 Everyone who keeps sinning is violating —indeed, sin is violation of Torah. 5 You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and that there is no sin in him. 6 So no one who remains united with him continues sinning; everyone who does continue sinning has neither seen him nor known him.
So, Sin is a violation(s) of Torah. Here it is in another version:
1 John 3:4 NASB95, Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
So, sin is lawlessness. Sin is breaking God's Law. What did Yeshua not do? He didn't break God's Law, and now John is telling us we must live how He lived. We must apply the portions of God's Law that apply to us individually to our daily life. That's how Yeshua lived, and we must do so also.
1 John 2:3–6 TLV, 3 Now we know that we have come to know Him by this—if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God is truly made perfect. We know that we are in Him by this— 6 whoever claims to abide in Him must walk just as He walked.
John 15:9-11 CSB, 9 “As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 “I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
